Today’s post is going to be about the top Pre-University (PU) colleges, or 11th and 12th grade colleges in and around Bangalore. I’ve already made quite a few posts talking about degree colleges and universities, but I haven’t really focused on few more PU colleges yet, which are also very important.
1. St. Joseph’s Pre-University College (SJPUC).
The college SJPUC has multiple locations, one being near UB City, next to Boys High School. The SJPUC and Boys High School are together, with Boys High School being an ICSE school, and SJPUC following a state board curriculum. This is known to be one of the best for Commerce courses. Its location on MG Road is a prime spot, and by the way, I studied here for both my 11th and 12th grades. If you want to know more about SJPUC, I wanted to write a college tour post.
2. Mount Carmel College (MCC)
MCC, Which is an all-girls college for the PU level and co-ed at the degree level. It’s also very well known for Commerce and is located in Vasant Nagar. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a college near your home, as it’s in a good location.
3. Sri Chaitanya Pre-University College
The college Sri Chaitanya Pre-University College Located in Malleswaram. It’s an excellent choice for Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. If you’re looking for a reputable college nearby, this is definitely worth checking out.
4. Christ University
While I don’t know much about this college, it’s quite popular and comes with the Christ name tag, making it an attractive option. One thing to note is that its timings and regulations can be stricter compared to other colleges, but if that doesn’t bother you, this could be a good choice.
5. CMR National Pre-University College
CMR National PU College is known for its strong priority on academics, and students can choose suitable stream. The college is located in the ABR Layout, 1st Stage, BTM Layout.
6. Jain Pre-University College
The college is well known for solid reputation. This college holds very strong track record in preparing students for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and CET. Located in VV Puram
7. Baldwin Women’s College
Women’s College located in Richmond Town, which has both a boys’ and girls’ campus, and is a great option for PU courses. It’s located in Banashankari, which is also convenient because of the nearby metro station.
8. Bishop Cotton Women’s College
Bishop Cotton Women’s College is located near Ashok Nagar, MG Road. It’s another excellent choice, and though it’s more of a school-like setup, its study methods are great.
Other Colleges
More colleges like BGS, which has branches in Malleswaram and Rajaji Nagar, and Chaitanya College, known for its strict approach but excellent results, especially if you’re aiming for NEET coaching. I’ve also included KGCI College, Christa Jayanti College, and Presidency University in the list. These are located a little further out, but they offer affordable fees and are easy to get into.
So, this list includes some of the best PU colleges in Bangalore, though I’m not saying other colleges are not good. These colleges come with a lot of value, and their festivals, curriculums, and overall activities are well-organized. If you join these, getting into a good degree college afterward is much easier because these are all excellent options. Thank you.
